Hooded jackets will probably be seen as totally ridiculous in about a year so no sense in buying that if the price seems high to you. Of course if hooded jackets are your thing and you're not trying to follow any fads we're talking about a totaly different situation
I love hoods. Â I have a rather long neck and sloped shoulders, so substantial collars and hoods on shirts and jackets give make me look a little more proportional, if you take my meaning, as well as adding some visual interest. Personal preferences aside, however, I don't think that *hooded* jackets are really a fad. Â A number of classic designs have always featured them because they are functional. Â Duffel or stadium coats come to mind immediately, as do parkas. Â Yes, hoods are very right now. Â One could say the same about jeans, and stripes (on everything from the ubiquitous "stripey" to jackets to pants), and Neapolitan silhouettes (oddly enough, often combined with Anglo details). Â However, I really doubt that hoods will become ridiculous looking in the way that MC Hammer pants and jeans with zippers at the ankles have come to look ridiculous.
