OH.... Clapton was there Thursday, and he was there last night too!!!! RE-GODDAMN-DICULOUS!!!!! Of course the encore was Layla, and of course it was awesome.... but LITTLE WING.... amazing. And to watch Derek Trucks... who was not even born yet when Clapton started getting gold records and people were painting "Clapton is God" all over England.... played on that stage like he had NO QUESTION he belonged. And he shined. And Clapton, who had NOTHING to prove... showed off all night like he had to earn his keep. It was MAGICAL.

I can't imagine how great Derek Trucks is live.

Hopefully some good YouTube vids will surface...

Derek Trucks is absolutely amazing live. His wife, Susan Tedeschi, is no slouch herself. I saw them play together last year and it absolutely blew me away.

It may be heresy to some, and I have a hard time saying this because of how much I love Derek & the Dominos and the ABB, but if Derek Trucks had been around when the old ABB was playing, I think he'd be on slide rather than Duane.

I envy you getting to see the Beacon run. I'm sure it will be amazing.

On a somewhat unrelated note, is anyone going to see any of the Eric Clapton/Steve Winwood shows in June? That would be a dream for me... unfortunately, the closest show is in DC. I would give anything to see them at the Fox in Atlanta.
