JetBlast needs DC date ideas

Thread Starter
Okay SF members (specifically metro DC people, or anyone familiar with the area)- I need ideas for a weekend date, probably in the daytime in the District (she is at American University). Any ideas appreciated; if all else fails we'll just walk around town a bit.

Thanks for any suggestions.

If it's a daytime date in the weekend, grab a nice brunch (where to go depends on your tastes) and after that, go see a matinée or one of the Smithsonians (pick one that'd be conducive to interesting discussions). If she is a college student, she will most likely be deprived of sophisticated environs so impress her by taking her somewhere that meets that criteria--somewhere she otherwise would not go but that she'd secretly love to frequent.

Start at the Cleveland Park metro around noon. Grab brunch/lunch at one of the many decent restaurants nearby. Afterwards head down Conn. Ave. to the Zoo. Kill an hour or two with the animals before reaching Rock Creek Park trail. Take the 15-20 min walk to Dupont Circle for drinks (it should be at least mid-afternoon by then).
