Ten.

While sales are way down, CPO sales are up.

Well if I'm not mistaken those two models are getting pounded because new versions of each are literally weeks away from being launched. So nobody in the market for a 7-series is going to plunk down for the model that's going to be obsolete in about 20 minutes... unless they can get an absolute steal on it.

^^^ Plus, wasn't 2008 Q1 BMW's best quarter ever, in terms of sales? (though to be honest, I'm not sure it was the best for the 7 series or the Z4...)

I figured their profit comes from the 3 series line, what are the numbers for that? These days all I see are brand new 3 series coupes everywhere I look.

First 2 months of 2008 was worse than 2007 overall. The 7 series did do well during that period of 2008 however, 1502 units vs 1015.

There is no 2009 Z4 because the all-new 2010 model will go on sale soon, so I think you're being a bit disengenous here. It is the same as concluding the everything is great because Clubman sales are up 87%.

I'm proud to add to the Clubman's good numbers in 2009

Wouldn't this be more of a reason to by the '09? I would expect steep markdowns for the cars at this time.

There *isn't* an '09 model. That's the point. They aren't building any right now. The new one will go on sale in a couple of months as a 2010 model. So the only sales right now are from the few leftover 2008s that are still on dealer's lots. Also, I think that most buyers in the luxury car market would rather pay a little more for a greatly improved completely redesigned model. If they really wanted to save money, they would buy a Camry.

Most of BMW 7-series are sold thru' leases or baloon type loans...The banks are getting out of lease business

Well darn

This can't be true. Wealthy people have too much money. Why would they change their behavior and not buy a new 7?
