Yes. If there is a 6x2 DB shawl dinner jacket, I have not seen it.

I don't see you as a buttoning point innovator.

A 4 lets all the buttons be below the shawl. The concept of show buttons at the level of a shawl lapel fills me with baby Jesus sadness.

If you want to be swank, put in buttonholes on either side of the shawl, so wrong but so right.

And that you should get a three season fabric dinner suit, but then add cream SB shawl in something will o' the wisp for the summer? It's only money.

Does it sound like I'm shouting?

Whoah there. There will be one dinner suit. I'd go shawl lapel SB, before going peak lapel DB. So, I will consider the 4x1 configuration and look around for examples.

Everyone's first dinner suit should be a one button, peak-lapel in a black, three season cloth, preferably from the Fisher formal book.

Five crisp Washingtons are in the mail for you, per our agreement.

Well, in your defense, here's a prince in a 6x2 shawl:

But here's a fallen king in a 4x2:

I'm suggesting one pair of dinner trousers but two jackets, one for three seasons and the other for summer or travel to warm places.

Think big.

I'll look into the Fisher formal book. But no-go on the peak lapel, single-breasted. My current tux is in that configuration and I have developed an unnatural distaste for it.

What's the beef with 1B, peak? Is it a boredom thing?

It works best as a second or third DJ in your closet. I agree that it looks good.
