I have a couple of pairs of shoes, that I really like, with bicycle-stitch insteps. One pair is the Allen-Edmonds Concord (monkstrap in black); the other is the A-E Hillcrest (lace-up blucher in merlot). Are these appropriate in more formal settings like important business meetings, receptions, etc.? Or are they too far removed from the usual more formal toe styles like plain toes and cap toes to work in these settings?
