This may be a ridiculous topic, but come on, it's Style Forum.

What do you all prefer to listen to at bars/lounges/friends' places? Does it depend on where you are? E.g. Hamptoms vs. LES vs. Spain? Or is there a universal standard?

I think 80's works anywhere anytime, but that may just be the former frat-boy in me. What about House? Too hipster-ish?

French Disco House... either the old stuff or the new stuff. It's reminds me of Paris, money and hedonism.

Listen to Louis La Roche, Xinobi, Moulinex, Jean Moustache or Thony Ritz... good stuff.

'70s Jamaican music- dub, rocksteady and early reggae. King Tubby, Joe Gibbs, Yabby You, Lee Perry, Augustus Pablo, etc. Absolutely perfect for making people feel good and putting a bounce in their step, without being overbearing.
