I'm looking for a white button down, square hem, that looks good when worn untucked. I'd like a slim fit and fabric that doesn't look that dressy. Thoughts? A Wolf vs Goat before dinner shirt would be great but they're out of my size atm.
I'm in need of a black suit for an event coming up in two or three weeks. I want to order from Thick As Thieves but I'm not sure if they will be able to get it to me in time and if they can't, I'm screwed. Where can I get a nice slim fitting black suit for a reasonable price? The sooner the better so I can get any alterations done before the event. Thanks!
Where can one find decent leather goods; belts and wallets, etc.?
Check out the leather artisans thread here. I've bought from forum member zissou and would recommend him.
Can anyone recommend a source of t-shirts/tanks that are relatively lightweight and slim with an asymmetrical or curved hem, maxing out at $50 a pop? I'm trying to experiment with a little more layering, but I'm not planning on going into Julius/Odyn Vovk territory.
I've spent a lot of time reading this thread and the streetwear shoes and boots threads but always end up gravitating toward the Alden thread and don't know what to do for this price range.
I'm having exactly the same problem! It's very hard to find a plain brown (no brogue or split toe stiching bs) blucher shoe of decent quality for a decent price. Even the Alden All Weather Walkers have grainy leather. The ones you linked are sick though; too bad they appear to be a limited run for that store in Portland.
I'm looking for some ss headwear. I like supreme camp hats but I'm not sure if I'm willing to pay like $70 just for the supreme logo. Does anyone else make decent looks hats? I look like a fool in the typical new era hats, so something a little different?
I could use a recommendation as to what shirt to wear with it to a wedding billed as "island formal" or something equally inexplicable along those lines. Would a blue OCBD be reasonable? The suit comes across as fairly casual with a relaxed fit.
I could also use a recommendation on shoes...I prefer more comfortable over less comfortable, since they'll be my only pair for a couple of days. Not a fan of boat shoes, or moc toes in general that are more substantial than what you see on Alden Indys or Florsheim Essexes:
I actually have a pair of these from way back, but I'm not sure if they're the ideal "island formal" shoe. And yes, the leather is about as nice as it looks in this photo, which is to say "not very".
If its for a more casual look with jeans you may want to look at a longwing blucher or if you're looking for something more formal you would probably want a cap-top balmoral, etc. Elaborate please!
What are the fundamental differences between oxfords that should be paired with jeans and more dressy ones? Looking for something to go with jeans, just need to make sure I'm looking for the right things.
