I have no clothes and need help - Page 2

Go to Penn Station, get on an Amtrak train south and get off at Wilmington, DE. My house is less than 2 miles from the train station. 40R, right? I'll hook you up. No problem. mon.

Sounds like a good opportunity to get some new threads for free. Use it wisely.

What's with all these responses telling Johnny to buy the minimal 2 shirts and underwear to get by? F-it. You're in Manhattan... Go wild... hit up Bergdorf's and buy a dozen shirts. Look for some deals at Century 21. Live it up..

He said he wouldn't need to wear "business formal" the next few days, so the suit's a non-issue.  Get one or two pairs of odd trousers and a long-sleeved shirt.  Day three, wear the shirt from day one, unless it was really distinctive.  In that case, get a second shirt.
Jill's the only practical one around here... But I'd say -- go to Brooks get 3 white button-down shirts, one tie, and a sets of boxers and socks. What the hell. It's a reasonable expense I think. I also might have them hem one pair of odd trousers too.

Thread Starter
I'm going to post in a separate thread later about what ended up happening. The good news is that I'm leaving for home tonight, so I was able to keep expenses to a minimum. I'll just clear up a few things before giving a more extensive post: (1) I was wearing soccer slides, not flip flops. I was wearing socks to keep my feet warm. (2) The first day (Tuesday) I was in a printing facility in our building dealing with documents, so I wore the jeans and t-shirt. (3) I got done with work on Tuesday at 9:35 pm and high-tailed it to the Union Square Filene's Basement. I got there right before close and had time to pick up two pair of Cole Haan Imperial OTC socks, an extra pair of boxers, and a Perifil undershirt (these are awesome, BTW). I did not have time to get a shirt or tie, as they were literally locking the doors and yelling at me when I got the socks. (4) Though I'm in Midtown, I had no time to get to Brooks or anywhere else during shopping hours. Only place I could have gone is J. Crew or BR, and I really didn't want to go that route for a dress shirt but would have if I absolutely had to. NOW THE PUNCHLINE (5) FIHTies came to the rescue by delivering to my hotel (himself) a shirt and tie (actually one shirt in FOUR different sizes, complete with a prelabeled box to return the 3 unused shirts...). I wore the Oxxford suit again today, as well as the Alden brown cap toes, which I stuff with newspaper overnight to dry them out. I'm going to make a separate post either later today or tomorrow specifically detailing the incredible service that Jonathan (FIH) provided to me, and will also comment on the quality/fit of the shirt and tie. Suffice it to say that Jonathan knows his product and I could not be more pleased with what I'm wearing right now.

Damn - with that type of service, I'm tempted to not even pack next time I go to NYC. Great work Jon.
