I'm offering the following Expresso Machine and Grinder for sale. I have a perfect eBay seller rating (ID: Girardian). ESPRESSO MACHINE Expobar Office Control. This machine has served me faithfully and pulls amazing shots. As the reviews on www.wholelattelove.com demonstrate (4.9 out of 5 stars), the machine provides the benefits of accurate temperature control and high pressure output, with the convenience of programmable shots and cleaning cycles. It is a "prosumer" machine, rated for 75 shots per day (on average) for annual use. The use it has seen was much more modest. I have used this machine in my home, purchased it new from WLL, and pull an average of 10 shots (i.e. 5 doubles) a week on it. It has been carefully maintained with weekly cleanings, and I use a 90% distilled water / 10% spring water mix. Tap water has never been run through the machine. Recently, I replaced the main brew group gasket. No known repairs are needed or anticipated. Cosmetically the machine is in excellent shape. Some very minor surface abrasions, mostly on the top (cup warming tray), as the photos demonstrate. This machine sells only through WLL. Their price is $1200. Here are the details: http://www.wholelattelove.com/Expobar/officecontrol.cfm GRINDER My Grinder is a Cunill Tanquillo. Like the Expobar, this is a Spanish brand. I purchased the grinder because of its outrageous price/performance ratio. The same machine is re-branded here in the states by at least one importer and sold at a substantial premium. The specs are impressive -- 60MM burrs (with 1700 lbs grinding life), large motor, slow grind, adjustable electronic timer (5 - 12 grams), dosorless, 22 lbs of solidly built machinery. More information can be found here: http://www.corainc.com/Details.cfm/P...485/category/3 The grinder sells new for $339. My cost on both, including some accessories I will throw in, was over $1600. I prefer to sell both units together -- they are a great match -- and am offering the pair for $1,000, plus actual shipping costs (will deliver to SF Bay Area locations). (I have the original box for the espresso machine and will double box the grinder for safe shipping.) Accessories All accessories needed to get "up and running" are included: - Modern Knock Box - Basic Tamper - Frothing pitcher - Extra 2-shot basket - Blind basket - Group Brush - Cafiza (for machine cleanings) Please contact girardian@gmail.com or send a PM here if you are interested.

What did you get to replace this setup?

I got a dual boiler rotary pump E61 group machine and an upgraded grinder.

That said, I have no complaints with this set up for sale -- it puts the smack down on most coffee shop set ups (although the equipment at many businesses is better it is often not properly cared for and cleaned), and produces both amazing shots and fantastic milk froth. Also, as a home roaster, the coffee I drink is also hands above what is generally commercially available.

I'm paying a huge premium for the "last 10%" of quality.
