Why do you work out?

That is, what is your motivation?

I started working out after jokingly telling one my friends that I was going to be "jacked and tanned" for the summer. He told me I couldn't do it. I got pissed off and decided to prove him wrong. haha

Because once I start seeing results I get a feeling of accomplishment I don't often get. I don't go to get ripped or anything but seeing your body get shaped up and just feeling better about myself on a daily basis is enough.

If that is your motivation, I bet you won't be working out long.
If you dont think so, tell me do you think you will work out when sick, injured, work and family commitments, snow, rain, sleet etc just to spite your friend?

To look better, because when you look better, you feel better, and when you feel better, you are more confident, and when you are more confident, you are successful

I workout because I like to improve my overall health. I eat right, exercise, etc., all for health benefits. The strength and physical changes are just bonuses.

So far so good. I've been going strong for two months now and have only missed a couple work outs. I've done a lot of weird things out of spite. haha

To look better.

Although now that I'm getting older I'm starting to think about doing more cardio for the health benefits.

Always said to my ex that I would when I finished uni. And I did. And it probably saved my life through the break-up.

That the girl I cheated with said I was "small" was additional motivation. And yes she was referring to my musculature.

I work out ( practice Bikram Yoga daily ) for these reasons: Health benefits, balances strengthens and tones my body and to fight the aging process. I'm motivated by the students who's been practicing the yoga for decades and their bodies are very youthful. This is what a typical , toned ,yoga body looks like.
