To Boot Sample Sale

Get there early if you are interested, especially if you are a size 10, 11. There's usually a line and the good stuff goes fast. They often have a selection of other brands as well. I've seen Gravati, Gucci. To Boot New York has chic men's shoes discounted by 50 to 80 percent. Cash only. When: 5/6 (8:30am-6:30pm); 5/7 (10am-6pm); 5/8 (noon-5pm). Where: 603 Washington St., nr. Morton St.

I've seen 'em there. Going down for an early breakfast the first morning. After PS, I have no idea where I'll put any steals I find.

Ain't that the truth, though this damn rent stabilized apartment. It's tought living b/w Park and Mad for $1k a month with a doorman. I need more space.

<GASP> You're like those sick, sick unemployed actors in Woody Allen movies who live in ridiculous UES apartments. As a "West Side rider" who does not live in rent-stabllized splendor, and who has to work crazy hours to pay my rent (and it's not even the American Gardens building, dammit--ah, what a difference 20 years makes in terms of being a NY yuppie) I am so jealous. Just please, please tell me that your apartment does not overlook Park Avenue. That, combined with your shoe collection, would be a "killer." EDIT: Is your apartment merely rent stabilized or (the holy grail) rent-controlled?

How about $2500-$3000 for a 1 bedroom in midtown? Pain, such pain. What brands of shoes can one expect at 'Boot?

nah solely a 1k a month hovel overlooking the Met. Happily spending the diff on shoes and built-ins. Atleast I put it to good use.

"overlooking the met" for 1k a month? I think I'm gonna cry. Seriously, even if the gov't says you're rich, it's easy to feel poor living in Manhattan.

Yeah, but the Met partially blocks my park view so I do suffer And a doorman comes with the deal. $1mm a year is middle class in Manhattan.
