It has protein and EFAs which are pretty much the only thing the human body needs. The mercury scare is ridiculous.

If that's all that's in the cabinets it makes overeating pretty difficult.

Lol I guess that's true. But it also makes staying on the diet ridiculously hard unless he's got the discipline of a tibetan monk.

People that overeat do it out of convenience moreso than a craving. How often do people want more chips as soon as they have one but would otherwise not eat any?

I found a site that calculated the maximum safe amount of tuna you can eat per week without worrying about mercury. With my weight, it says I can have 2.5 cans a week max of light, or 1 can of albacore. I'm undecided on whether the mercury scare is genuine or not, but since I megadose chlorella (heavy metal chelator) I'm not worrying about it. I do need to make a point to eat more tuna though. I love fish and sardines are a bit fatty for me to be eating them as much as I do. I finally started tracking my calories and was amazed to see the massive amount of fat my underweight ass is consuming every day.

Whether or not chlorella is a heavy metal chelator or not is debateable, but even if it were I don't think it would stop mercury poisoning.

Do you have a link to that site? 2.5 cans per week to avoid mercury poisoning? That's pretty dumb.

Youre making good progress imo. Dont start getting impatient, itll ruin everything.

As for diet, quite frankly after reading so many conflicting things about supplements i think youre better off sticking with lots of chicken/eggs/tuna.

When i was younger and ate a lot of that while working out i made crazy gains. but i also retained fat cause i didnt do much cardio.

why: http://www.ewg.org/tunacalculator I stand corrected, I'm allowed 1/2 can of albacore per week or 1.5 cans of chunk light! ridiculous! Also, I'm not saying I believe chlorella will fix me up if I say break open a thermometer and drink the mercury inside, but as far as whatever is in tuna, chlorella will be my hedge heh. Just about every claim made by sellers of spirulina and chlorella are debatable, but the one thing that isn't the the whole 'never felt better in my life' experience I've had since I started taking them. Maybe I was deficient in something all along that they provide, I don't know, and don't care, but am addicted to the green sludge now.

That calculator is so wrong. If it were true I bet half of Samoa would be dead.

They must be taking their algae supplements then

Chicken thighs (CHEAP), the $3.49/lbcut of beef, pork loins (REALLY CHEAP). Buy the cans of tuna as well. For even more variety, you can buy the individually sealed tilapia or salmon fillets. Get the ziplock vacuum sealer ($5) and get to work sealing the servings of meat. You are set on whole food protein for a month now. Furthermore, you'll enjoy your meals and you'll get to eat something different everyday. There's most of your 150g of protein right there, the rest you can get through powders, etc. Make sure you keep your crisper stocked with vegetables. It's good to fill your stomach with alongside your protein. If you're the type that overeats, this really helps because your stomach doesn't differentiate between caloric dense and low-calorie 'stomach space.' Otherwise, veggies are nutrient rich and taste good. I've been eating healthy for the past couple of months and I've not only been saving a lot of money but eating delicious food as well. Dinner consisting of steak, chicken, pork + veggies range anywhere from $1.50 to $3.50 a meal. For fitness, do the Starting Strength program. This page should be al you need for a couple of months: http://startingstrength.wikia.com/wi...rting_Strength Edit: Get rid of the cereal. Eat the oatmeal pre workout. Don't worry so much about avoiding fat in any form (unless it's transfat or unless you have a medical condition requiring you to do so).
+1 Veggies are also good because they are complex carbs instead of simple carbs. Therefore, when you eat veggies they keep you feeling full much longer than another food with simple carbs. This will help with any cravings that you might have throughout the day. For example, a veggie omlette in the morning will keep any cravings at bay much longer than cereal, processed foods, etc. Psyllium is great not only for extra fiber which has health benefits, it helps with pooping in that it makes your stool larger. Larger poops are easier to pass and therefore supposedly easier on the body. My doctor actually prescribed a tablespoon of psyllium in OJ every morning to supplement fiber (in case I'm not getting enough veggies) and to aid in staying regular... Also, eating healthy isn't about starving oneself or limiting oneself to any single kind of food. It's about improving one's life. All eating one food will do is create an imbalance resulting in binging later on. Why not eat healthy AND enjoy it? I ate so much tuna and yogurt when I was lifting that now if I even see it I want to puke... Salmon FTW!
