Late Show with Jimmy Fallon

What a disaster. I can't believe they gave this guy the late show gig. I've never found him remotely funny.

I felt bad for De Niro. It feels as though he didn't even interview him. He was too focused on trying to be funny, which he also screwed up. I realize it's his first show, but I don't think he has the right personality for this job.

Amen.

Hopefully putting him in this gig is some giant meta-joke on him. I can't believe he made it a full season on SNL since he could not get through a single skit without laughing. Which NBC exec is he the son of?

yeahhhh, wasn't very good...at all. Although, I thought the Slow Jam News was funny.

Although, in his defense, Kimmel and O'Brien struggled HEAVILY out of the gates...both were rumored to be canceled shortly after starting. Turns out late night talk show hosting is harder than it looks.

He just needs some time to find a groove before we can pass final judgment. I'd say to check back on this thread in a few months.

It has nothing to do with hitting his groove. He isn't funny, he never has been.

+1. From what I've seen on SNL, he blows.

They should have gotten Jay Leno to do it.

+1. I thought it was pretty funny. Fallon shouldn't have had Deniro on the first night. He's really tough to interview and it didn't work all that well into a joke.

O'Brien bombed for the first couple years, it's just been long time.

Wait, Kimmel's funny now? I find it hard to believe Fallon could be even worse than he is.

I actually kind of like Kimmel, but I've only seen a few episodes.

Though I don't watch his show (or any other late night talk shows), I like Jimmky KImmel a lot. Maybe its from his Man Show days

Watching it last night, its obvious they're struggling and Fallon is trying much too hard. I think these people know what they're getting when they hired Fallon... I'm giving this guy a couple of months to know if he really sucks or not. And I think he needs a sidekick- but the caveat there's a good sidekick can easily steal the limelight from Fallon.

Yeah I thought he struggled too.

I really liked the Roots though but I'm a big fan so I'm biased. That's pretty much the only reason I watched. And I thought Justin did a good job of somewhat salvaging the show after that trainwreck(no pun intended) of a DeNiro interview.
