Howard Yount: Affiliate thread - Page 309

Welcome. And good idea on trying the 34US rather than going down, IMO.

As for return address, somewhere on the thread, not too far back, IIRC, or should be on the delivery note of yours?
Just make sure to announce the return (and e.g. request to credit back by pp or to cc) by replying to the original order confirmation email. That seems to be the best way.

Anybody had their eye on the made-in-USA Italian cotton pants from HY in size US36?

I bought some (which I posted photos of you may recall), and Jamison has never gotten back with me after repeated attempts to get in touch with him. I gave him the benefit of the doubt at every turn to no avail; I even sent them back to his return address (which he had given me in the past for a previous purchase I made), but they were never claimed and so were returned to me by the post office. He's cheated me severely, or that's how it feels anyhow.

So I'm hoping to sell them here. I'm going to take a hit no matter what because 1- as soon as i bought them, they went on sale for $15 less than i paid, 2- i paid for that return shipping and 3- i’ll pay shipping for these to whoever buys them.

they're nice pants. just don't fit the bill for what I was looking for. B&S listing in my sig

My size 34 in USA fit are kind of huge. Would require slimming from the seat down to hem, take in the waist, and hem. Would it be too much work?

And what is the leeway for the waist? I think I may need to take in about 2" or a little more. No more than 3"

I believe the standard wisdom is that more than 2" isn't a good idea. Not a tailor though, so grain of salt, etc.

Are they cotton or linen? If so, wash them and hang dry, then make your determination and alteration.

If wool, you can easily slim the legs and waist/seat. 2" will make the pockets a little too close together, probably would be best to return/exchange. Try replying to your sales order confirmation email for returns.

Thanks, guys!

I listed them on B&S but will send Jamison an email if it goes nowhere.

With regard to the cotton pants, how do you tell the difference between the "USA" and "Italy" cuts? Is it simply the location of construction (made in USA/Italy)?

Also, is the difficulty with returns being expressed on these last couple of pages typical as of late with Howard Yount? I'm a bit afraid to try an order out after what I'm reading here...

I'll share that my first order was returned and refunded. Another order that didn't work out will be shipped out with tracking, soon.

Just be patient, be polite with your email, and if all doesn't work out, call your CC company up.

I'm weary to place another order for the mere fact that I don't have my sizing down, yet. The trousers are really nice in hand FWIW.

Has anyone heard anything from Jamison recently?

I placed two orders over the summer, but only one was received.  I emailed HY several times and have gotten no response. I filed a dispute with PayPal but as I did so past 45 days so they won't refund my money (next time I'll just pay direct with my Amex).  Frustrating thing is that I really like the trousers I did receive and would like to pick up 2-3 more pairs....but I'd like to get the ones I already paid for first!

The consensus seems to email Jamison via the confirmed order / confirmed shipping email you received. And as I stated above, just be polite about it and straight forward with your inquiry.

First, did you get a tracking #? Does it show as delivered?

Every time I visit this thread it's like groundhog day.

I got an e-mail from Jamison in response to one I sent him a few days ago, so I can confirm that he is alive and checking his inbox.

Nope - no tracking number for this particular order and PP has no details either. I've definitely been polite - I know it's a small business and I'm not terribly upset over the whole thing, I'd just like a response.  I'd also like to order more products - the trouser are a great deal and a great fit.

HC - it is a bit like groundhog's day.  I suppose I went into it with a "well it won't happen to me" mentality.

Perhaps try looking through your email for at least an order #, then, confirmation of the order being placed, and lastly, double check for the shipping confirmation. Was it together with another order i.e. you ordered both trousers together and only one arrived?

I have ordered twice now, recently, and have had good rapport via email.

I will order again FWIW as IME so far, Jamison offers the widest selection online that I'm aware of for RTW in various good fabric.

Yeah funny thing is that the first time I ordered from HY I had to return due to sizing, had my email responded to within 24 hours, and my account credited within 2-3 days of sending back.  Service wasn't over the top but it was quite good.  Sort of leaves me confused about the present situation even more.
