Anybody have a phone number for HY they could pm me? I'm having a real hard time getting a response from my messages to them via the website.

The pants are mid-weight charcoal wool in size IT46. I need a 48 (or us 30), which I'd be happy to trade for or sell slightly below cost to anyone here.

Thanks!

I don't have a phone number, but the best way to contact him is to send a reply to your confirmation or shipping email. For returns, just ship them back with a nice note explaining the reason for the return and a print out of your invoice. I wouldn't bother with the trying to exchange. In the past, I've just ordered the new size and returned the unwanted item.

A 46IT is a 30US. 48IT would be a 32. Just an FYI. From what I hear its almost impossible to get in touch with them. Are they italian made or US made? Im guessing Italian due to sizing but can you post a link for the pants? You might have better luck just selling them here. Unfortunately that was what I had to do.

I did this and got a quick, helpful response. Thanks much!

Does anyone know if there are plans to have the Italian trousers with side tabs? Now it's just the American made ones.

I have a question for members who would have bought Italian pants from the new autumn /winter 2014 stock . (As there is no chance to get a reply from Howard Yount!).

The description of the new stock is a bit confusing! It doesn't state clearly that it's the new Italian (very slim) fit of last summer with tapered legs. It just says that they are slim at the seat and thigh  with an advise to size up! I have a doubt that it's the old Italian fit with relatively tight thighs but less tapered legs. Can anyone who purchased from the new stock give a hint to clarify which fit is it? Thanks in advance.

P.S.

I'm from Canada so no chance to purchase 2 sizes to compare  as returns are not accepted outside the US!

Received first pair of HY trousers in slim cut (MII)

I sized up as recommended to 34.

I thought I was going to have a hard time pulling them on initially but after getting both legs through, I was able to button up the waist. The waist is loose, which is expected. The seat feels fine...

I noticed though that I had a pocket flare occurring, particular at the left side.

TBH I did not feel like the seat was constricting and was surprised at how apparent the left side was to the right. Should the pants be hung and allowed to settle?

I really do not think it is a fit issue, and when I pull up on the waistband above the left pocket, the fabric around the pocket smooths down.

Can this be a defect? Can this be fixed by a simple alteration tailor or ironed out?

I did try on the pants with a belt but same result.

I was confident that the pant and cut would fit me and planed on ordering 5 more pairs unless the cut is really not for me. Thoughts?

I have a poor photo for showing:

That looks like ferocious pocket flare. I don't know if there will be enough in the seat to let it out.

It is a poor photo with the camera blocking the view, but the seat is not pulling and the waist is at least 1.5" too big.

Or am I misunderstanding seat spacing, and I should quickly abandon this?

It's the hips not the seat that are the issue, not much you can do for that on a rtw trouser, so I dare say the cut doesn't work for you.

I see. :(

Did people who could not fit the cut of the slim HY trousers go with their TTS in the USA cut? So, I tried a 34 in the Italy cut, too slim--I should wear a 32 in the USA cut?

The USA cut has limited options in terms of the fabric choices. bummer

I had like 8 pairs bookmarked, all in the Italy cut.

Funny, most my choices are US cut ("made in USA"). Those are ~TTS, meaning a tag 34 e.g. is 35" IRL. Have you seen the size charts (sometimes not clickable on mobile)? Those are pretty accurate.
PS: If inbetween sizes, rather go up and trim, esp. with wider hips.

Thanks for the last part...I will try US 34.

Anyone got the return address handy?

Going to order a made is US pair today.
