8" is already on the slim side of tradition. The return policy is good though (so long as you're patient).

Just got my pants back from the tailor. Question. The blue stitching on top and bottom of each belt loop - it's like a bright blue thread.

These don't come out do they? I figured they would cut / pull out when I bought them.

You could have your tailor redo them in a thread that isn't so bright. Or, you could learn to sew and DIY.

Just received an order today (Italian worsted wool trousers plus some socks) that I'd placed a couple weeks back. The timeline seems very reasonable to me particularly since 1. I'm in Canada and 2. we had a spot of unusual weather in the meantime.

I sometimes see posters complaining about shipping times and communication issues so wanted to ensure that the positive experiences were shared, too. I've ordered from Jamison a few times and he has always been communicative and shipped promptly.

pictures? i'd love to see more pics of people in their newly received HY stuff.

FYI - I ordered recently while on vacation and sent an email to Jamieson to advise him that I was on holidays and would not receive the items if they did not arrive to my destination address within the week. I got an email back in 3 hours from Jamieson confirming shipping and acknowledging my email. Product arrived in perfect timing.

6 or 7 orders (and one return) from HY and never had a single issue. As always the products (dark grey lambswool trousers and burgundy lambswool sweater) are incredible value....

I've only ordered three trousers from him, and returned one, and I am a fan.

I've been wondering if I should encourage him to come back to this thread in an email. It would really do his business some good, I think. Just not sure I dare...he's made a concerted effort not to log in, I think. Maybe time is really tight for him.

I think HY customers just have to live with the sometimes frustrations like lack of communication from an e-business owner.

It's that or be the squeaky wheel and probably get changes implemented that make prices rise.

Do you mind telling me how much shipping and customs were? Thanks

Shipping was $22 on a $230 order. There were no customs charges or additional tax at the border this time. I can't remember what I've paid/if I've paid these fees in the past.

My experience as a Canadian HY customer has been about 10% due at the door. This has been very consistent aside from that one time I was charged something like $100 for a $350 pair of shoes.
Yeah, we totally get screwed on shoe imports. My $700 Carminas cost me $200 at the door. Apparently we're protecting the Canadian shoe industry.

The snowshoe manufacturers need to be protected from the threat of Spanish-made monkstrap shoes.

crackup[1].gif Ironically, I could use a pair of snowshoes, given the winter we've been having. Yesterday, forty knot winds, zero visibility, minus twenty degrees. Apparently, several igloos were knocked down and sled dogs have gone missing.
