Looks like all the wishful thinking I had didn't help and I have to order a size larger. I've e-mailed Jamison and I'm hoping that he gets back to me about an exchange. Product looked great just need a bigger size. He's been good getting back to me before and during ordering. Really hope I'm on the hit side of "hit or miss".

Personally I like the cut of HY's American trousers quite a bit more than Epaulet's Walt.

I recently received a pair of mid grey Four Season Super 100s in size EU46 / US30 which unfortunately do not fit me. Happy to sell these on at cost BNWT, PM me for more details. I'm located in the UK.

what is it about the cut that makes you prefer HY American-cut trousers? And in terms of sizing, I wear a size 33 EP Walt well... do you think a 34 HY American cut would work best?

Does anybody have an idea on when the tropical wool or the linen trousers will be restocked. I'm looking to pick those up and none seem to be in 34.

They are narrower than Barrie lasted Aldens. I am an 11.5D Barrie but there was no way I fit an 11 in the HY suede captoes.

The Epaulet and HY trousers are made by the same company, so the fit is very similar. I would say that the HY are closer to the Rudy up top and taper a bit more like the Walt.

but the rise is so different by about 2 inches at least. that doesn't bother you?

EP is true to waist size. The 34 HY is almost
36 at the waist if i recall. If you are a 33 in EP then I would go with the 32 HY American cut.

There is no way that they are 2" different. I can measure tonight to be sure, but I'm pretty sure that the actual Epaulet measure is not what is published.

Both from 36 waist, (edit to add) measured from crotch seam to top of waistband.

Wool Serge HY - 11.25" (11" published)

FF Epaulet trouser - 10.25" (12.5" published, from Epaulet site - "Rise is measured from the lowest point of the crotch (laid flat) to the top of the waistband.")

OK, so it's an inch different. The FF may have some variance, as well. I found that these serge fit a bit large compared to others. For example, I fit in the lambswool flannel in navy, size 34, but not in the mid gray and had to go up to a 36.

YMMV, and I'm sure it has a lot to do with the production process and fabric thickness/characteristics. Just as long as they fit pretty well and I can tailor them to my liking, I'm happy.
