Are you guys cuffing the trousers or not?

I typically don't cuff any of my trousers. I feel like the lack of cuff gives a sleeker line and cuffs make pants look "older".

I am pretty short (5'6") so I cuff only 1 3/4 inches on all my trousers. Would do 2" SF groupthink but.. short.

For some reason I didn't feel like a cuff worked well on the madras trousers, but other than that I cuffed 'em all.

Not in the next batch, but we may be making some more later this fall.

I think that's a good size cuff. I'm 5'10" and I think 2" can look a little too large.

And I cuff all wool, but only half cotton.

I have the jacket and would describe the color as a slightly bluish charcoal with the typical slight striping of twill. You could wear it with pewter gray trousers for a nice monochrome look. Perhaps Jamison will chime in with more suggestions.

Been wanting to try out the pants for very long time now, but a lot of them seem to have a 36' inseam unfinished. At 6' 3 I won't be able to cuff the bottoms, even the unfinished 38 inseam is pushing it…….

Thanks. I ordered one to check it out.

just out of curiosity, who makes HY shoes?

im sure it has been discussed in the thread before but I just wanted to ask.

Got my wool pants yesterday and just tried them on this morning. They seem a little big around the waist and thighs. I had ordered a size 30, which is my waist size, and what I wear in the only other pair of wool pants I have (Epaulet rudy fit) which fits perfectly!!!

What do you all think?  Obviously, they need to be hemmed.

I like my wool pants to be pretty slim, so this is different. Don't know if I should just pay a tailor to hemm the pants and possibly bring in the pants, or should I return and size down.

I also like tappered trousers, so that is going to take time getting used to a 'straight leg' as I transition into buying more wool pants.

I'd say that my preferred "fit" or look for pants would be something like below. As you can see, slim but not tight.

Ha ha, yeah, that was my initial reaction. But I am really short (5'4) so all my pants end up looking like this prior to hemming. If anything, the bigger issue is all the excess fabric around the ankle area. That's just ungodly.

I might just have to stick with Epaulet trousers, although their prices are getting out of hand imo. Though HY would be a good alternative both in terms of chinos and trousers.

i'm just not sure whats going on there. I just bought some flannels and the fit nicely around the thighs and then taper well. This somehow looks tight yet baggy at the same time. its confusing to me. Maybe an expert can explain whats up.

good luck

Those pants are not the right cut for you. Try Epaulet Rudy.

Was thinking the same thing. Are they pulled up all the way in the pics? Seems like they are pulling in places and baggy elsewhere. The pockets are bulging out, yet the leg is on the loose side (though not terribly so). Regarding the taper, if that's what you want you might have to add some once you sort out your fit issues, as the OTR fit starts to taper a little further down the leg. Presumably to accommodate the most average height.

They were pulled up to just about a half inch under my navel, which is where I usually wear high rise pants.

The pocket bulging wasn't too bad. That's usually cause by the waist size being too small, right. And the waist size on these was 1.5 - 2 sizes too big. (size 30 usually being my waist size)
