Been using one for 10+ years and have never had a problem. Wouldn't go back to any other style of wallet. Just be careful with paper magnetic tickets (parking tickets)...it has zapped those on me.

Ceramic magnets are the worst offenders for erasing cc info. And yes, they can erase cc strip info.

My pocket clip also wipes out hotel keys and some credit cards.  I got around this by inserting a piece of copper down into the pocket directly behind the clip.
