Tie preference - Page 2

I'm in suits daily, and prefer a bow tie, tied myself, that stays nice and crisp and solid tightly up at my collar. I wear bow ties exclusively, and I get my shirts, usually white, sometimes pastels, heavily starched, which helps present a crisp look especially around the collar.

I really don't like the lighter (charvet) ties. They don't stay tied and the knot they make is generally too small for my collars unless I do a half windsor and then they're too short.

Is this a Thread Resurrection record? Just short of 3 years? Judges? Anyone?

I really hate heavy, thick, stiff ties.

More necroposts.

So who is going to ask where he can get one of the Carlo Franco ties mentioned in the thread?

Anyone?

I have mostly lighter ties. I tie a lot of 4 in hands and they just seem easier to tie to me.

7-fold does not mean necessarily heavier. I have a Charvet bespoke 7-fold that is actually very light. Arnys' "cravates d'atelier" are also pretty light. I like heavier ties myself, actually.

Surely you jest.

I like lighter, but it obviously depends on what I'm wearing on a given day. My clothes aren't completely consistent.

Most of my 7 seven folds are really light.
