You need better fitting jeans and jacket. Their shape makes you look like a rectangle.

BOF Pairing that jacket w jeans definitely doesn't work, looks like an orphaned suit coat. Shirt & tie are bad also.

You may be beyond help, this would still be really bad on a forum reserved for people with poor dress habits. Why would you post an outfit like this?

Trust me, I am no expert...but here goes. Shirt sleeves could use some shortening on the jacket. The closed quarters plus wide leg jeans make you look very "blocky." Are they rolled at the bottom? I wish I could be more helpful than this....hopefully someone else can chime in.

On second thought....from this angle it looks like a suit jacket with jeans. I think a patterned odd jacket would look better as well.

BOF, the jeans look like they could be slimmer, and the suit is really, really boxy. The colors aren't very good and the boots are putting me off. With all that said, the jacket coupled with jeans look...terrible. It's like you took an awful base and then somehow made it even worse.

The thing with real life vs. the internet is that most people will think that's actually getting dressed up, and they probably feel obligated to compliment it in real life. On the internet though people won't hesitate to shit on it, but very few people in real life will actually tell you that you look really fucking bad.

It's mostly that the jeans and jacket don't fit well. Jacket is too boxy and the jeans are just bad.

OK, thanks for the comments. I'll see about having the jacket tailored eventually, and the jeans are the widest leg ones that I have. I'm definitely not a slim-pants person, though, while I can see that it's good for some of the people on here.

I was thinking the same thing. I think for the jacket and jeans thing to work you need a blazer that has a more causal feel than a suit coat and jeans with a good shape, and lose the tie.

That jacket doesn't fit you very well. You could easily go down probably. The shoulders like far too big. On your right shoulder you can see the fabric bunching, on the back the excess fabric is making it so the jacket doesn't go around smoothly. The jacket is a bit too long. If its a long you could go down to a regular or try and have it shortened about an inch. These sleeves are also about half an inch too long. Open quarters and a higher button stance might make it look a bit better too.
