Isn't it always men's zipper on the left/button holes on the left/belt buckle and belt end to the left/watch on the left wrist/etc. Also usually belts have words/names/sizes/labels on the inside that when worn on the wrong side would be upside down if you tried to read it.

well, "supposed to" as in that is the traditional way, yeah. it's not like a moral judgment or something... see willy's post. bigger issue imo is the way the belt is pushed to the opposite side of center from the placket, jean fly, etc.
