looking for some jeans - Page 2

Moderator flame war? That would rule. Again, that "Love Below" vs. "Speakerboxxx" video comes to mind.

supposedly, Nudie is gonna have an online store with US distribution starting in August. hopefully the prices will be more competitive to the Swedish prices so you'll be seeing me jump on another pair of RR dry selvages.

Seems like maybe the APC's are in order. Not sure I can justify the extra 100 dollars for nudies - 120 dollar jeans are a huuuuge stretch for me as it is (poor college student). Are there any huge quality differences between the 2 or is it just brand and cut? Hopefully nudie does open a U.S. store and can give us some better prices so I can give them a go in the future if I find out that I do like the raw denim.

Yes, and no. People are going to argue either way. I have both, and personally I think the Nudie denim is better. However, the APC has felled inseam, while Nudie does not. They're both dual ringspun, which is what matters most. Can't go wrong with APC.

I agree with Brian. Personally, I like the completely subtler details and the lack of branding on the APC's (except for the distinctive front button, but that is pretty cool and generally hidden under a belt anyway, but prefer the cuts of Nudies. BTW, Brian, the girl wearing Nudies was probably wearing Bootcut Ola's, which are essentially unisex. However, they are technically for men. Denimbirds is the Nudie sister brand.

Yea, I figured they were either Ola or Flare Glenn, I'd have to see them again to figure it out, I can't remember how low-rise they were and how big of a flare they had. I have never seen denimbirds in real life yet. Do they carry them at places in LA? I need to find a good birthday present for a girl.. I don't think I'll get her dry jeans though, and I was thinking about either Seven or Tsubi, but I want to check out more stuff before I buy anything. Birds or something else a bit more "indie" than Sevens would be a preferred choice here. I would love to get her some APCs, but yea... don't think she'll go for the whole unwashed thing

I don't know, but I would try both Traffic (womens) and Politix (again, women) in the Beverly Center (www.beverlycenter.com for phonenumbers.) Traffic carries the bootcut Ola (or did last year), and the women's store may carry Denimbirds. Sounds like a girlfriend.

Uh oh.. Hold it down Brian, your head's getting blurred. I know you can't stop thinking of her. By all means you can vibe with this girl. But just don't mug yourself, that's all, don't mug yourself.

Hahaha. She's one of my best friends - we've known each other for a couple years. She's NOT that girl, j. Not the one you're thinking of. She always tells me she likes my jeans, and she bought me a cashmere Burberry scarf for Christmas, so I think some nice jeans would be a good return gift.

I've only seen Japanese girls in dry denim. I think it takes a special girl to understand dry denim, let along wait it out till they age well. I really don't know ANY girl with that type of patience when it comes to fashion. After all it's not the same as being on the year long Hermes waiting list for a bag.

I don't know, Mike. I've seen plenty of hipster chicks wearing APC jeans recently. They are often not worn in the way most guys like theirs, but the super crisp, clean look is pretty cool in its own right.

http://www.mycatwalk.com.au/pages/byrds-denim_1.html Sells Denimbirds, and delivers to the US. And apparently the Super Kim is a Nudie women's model. My bad.
all Nudie jeans are either mens or unisex. kim is a unisex name is sweden bootcut eddy was discontinued from the nudie line when denimbirds launched because it was percieved as a womans jean(had stretch).
