Speed dating?

Who has been to a Speed Dating night?

I have never done it for a variety of reasons (always had a gf, know lots of girls anyhow, they are very rarely held in Vietnam, and when they are, they are in VNese) but I just received a Facebook invite to English speed dating tonight, I am free tonight (other than hopping around between the same 5 bars as every other night) and single now, so I am contemplating it.

Seems like it may actually be fun. Who has done it? How did it work out?

Go. They are interesting regardless of the prospects there. And it sounds like this is a rare opportunity.

I'd give it a shot. Why not? Cuts all the bullshit out, and you can actually see what they look like, unlike that internet dating BS.

It's like golf to me. I've had one relationship come out of a speed dating event, so I keep going back, even though it's never happened again.

You should go. Talking with many women for short amounts of time will sharpen your small talk. At worst, you'll lose a few hours out of your life.

Doesn't speed dating describe most of your social life, Matt?

I think its a crazy idea! Better then internet dating. But just a sad way to meet a date? surely going out is a better option?!

It actually costs money? Why bother then? Going to a bar and talking to women there is free.

it was like 8 bucks including drinks. Organised by a company independent of the venue, so ya, they charge a bit for it.

so? Any funny stories out of this? Other than the fact that you went?
