Honestly, if I am alone, i'd rather find a nice deli. It is much easier. Also, it seams a lot of restaurants arent that keen on the single-diners. I guess there is a certain level of business they need to do in an hour to make the whole thing profitable, and I understand that. Of course it doesnt have to be that way. If everyone knows what they are doing, I can easily have the 2-3 course meal and half a bottle of something and be out of there in an hour...Might make more financial sence then a group that takes up 3-4 hours...

Still, I supose the trick may be going, as someone mentioned, at less crowdy times, either before or after the "dinner rush", or perhaps even at a hotel restaurant, where they are more used to single-diners. But as I said, it is often easier to find a nice deli...
