What is it with people and eating outside? It's like they think is has magical powers to transform their dining experience.

Drinking outside I can get behind.

I love eating outside. It's a rare combination of two enjoyable things. Wind can ruin it, however.

eating outside like outside in the wind, or eating out? i like doing both.

Generally, yes, but not all the time. For some types of food, I prefer an indoor environment. As far as drinking goes, outside > inside.

Also homeless people. In cities at least. Both sad and awkward.

Where I live, outside dining is a big thing. Right time of year, I love it. Very few bugs around here, great scenery, perfection.

Outside drinking > inside drinking.

Outside drinking, 2am, quiet natural setting on the other side of your fence/wall, soft chill music playing, spa, majetically star lit sky > all

I don't mind sitting outside on a beautiful day, even in NYC. Why not enjoy the weather with your food?

Drinking outside (i.e., beer) and eating bar or bbq food is great. Anything else, I would probably prefer to be indoors.

I like eating outside in a town plaza in Spain or Italy. Or if you're at the beach. But it doesn't make or break the experience.

As for drinking outside, open container drinking laws can really put a damper on that, unfortunately.

white people love eating outside

I like eating outside but not really on improvised "sidewalk cafés" taking half of an already narrow sidewalk. I much prefer patios and gardens in the back of the restaurant. Terraces with nice views are the best.
