i haven't seen this look in a long time. i think it died when ricky martin changed his hairstyle. and i agree that all the hip hop urban wear crap, as ridiculous as it looks to us now, will begin to look ridiculous to everyone else very soon. after all, p-diddy's over it, right?

haha that tin tin comment just made me laugh real hard i agree with the distressed jeans, but i think the whole fake-prep , fratboy look (ie. AE or A&F) will be laughable in a few years

Non-sensical graffiti and graphics on everything, and raw seams on everything, too. The first guy ever to do it was probably pretty cool, but everyone else... My favorite tragic look of the moment - jeans or cargo pants (with graffiti), short-sleeved t-shirt (with graffiti), and sleeveless hooded sweatshirt (with, surprise surprise, graffiti). Add a trucker cap, and make everything pastel, and you've got it. Especially funny if they're travelling in packs. They look like a street gang from some kind of 1980s future.

Well boppers, it's up to the Pastels to bring it to Coney Island and back tonight. Warriors... come out to PLAYEEAYYYY.... Personally, I think that hoodies are too ubiquitous now, and the mid-30s slacker look with a hoodie (always open, possibly too small to close) over a graphic t-shirt, with some cargoish pants, and maybe a backwards hat, needs to die as well.

"faux" tailoring (exaggerated stitching, pockets, buttons, etc) flashy shirting (bias patterns, variegated stripes, etc) jeans with excessive "whiskers" or "crinkles" sneaker/dress shoe hybrids

I'd add jackets where the gorge is practically on top of the shoulder. The balance on suits is getting so high it will eventually look a bit ridiculous.

I agree with every one of these points. Especially the first and last. The faux pickstitching on lapels of cheap jackets is especially appalling.

That would most likely be Dirk Schonberger, who's designs seemed sort of outlandish at the time, but pall in comparison to some of the wierdness out there. Fok.
