well he could have meant that you are always willing to take on any jobs/assignments. however, its commonly used to say that you are a mindless drone who kisses ass.

Oman,I was really trying to determine if it could be taken positively at all.
I realize 'yes man'= kiss ass... but i am trying to turn a positive spin on it. I am dense, but I am not that dense... I am not many steps above it at this point, but I am not employed by Texas DOT, and my workstation is not a toll-booth.

sorry, i didn't mean to offend but your boss certainly did. i can only speak for myself, but i would've taken this as utterly insulting and gotten justifiably upset. i think you should have, too. who the hell is this guy to demean you like this, to call you a "yes-man"? what's next, he ***************? i believe that no matter what your rank in the organization, you are an individual with rights. have some pride in who you are, man. don't allow yourself to be talked down to unless, of course, you are simply allowing him to believe that you are a yes-man, purely in order to achieve your own ends. in that case, you have everything under control.
