I recieved my suit today and want to share my experience. First of all hello everyone, Ive been lurking this board for two months but finally registered. Great board.

Let me start out by saying this is my second tailored suit. The 1st was measured locally and then sent away to Hong Kong. It looks great but the quality is average. The suit that came from Ravistailor/Mytailor is much better. I wanted the front of the jacket hand basted instead of any fusing. Working sleeve buttons, hand picked lapels and pockets. The pants and the vest are both perfect fits. The jacket was alittle tight around the stomach even though I gave them my exact measurement but I believe that was because i chosed loosely comfortable instead of the next bigger size. Im having them taken out alittle.

The overall fit and quality is great for the money even for many hundreds more.

I had a shirt made by those guys from one of the 'better' qualities of fabric they offer. Their fabric selection in both shirts and suits appear to be limited. And the better fabrics are reasonably priced, but not cheap either.

I was dissapointed with the stitching, and the shrinkage on the shirt. Other than that, they did a good job (I just like the stitches to be closer).

I am still waiting for a shirt from Jatzen Tailor, and another from MyTailor.com to see how they compare.

One thing I must say about the ravistailor site is that the customer service and website interface quality is a lot better than anything you can get from any of the other discount-overseas tailors.

I have ordered several pairs of pants from Ravistailor and have to say they fit splendidly. I ordered one Sportscoat that fit reasonably well - but then no one ever gets the shoulders right without an actual fiting IMHO.

The only downside is that the fabric quality has been really questionable. I have not ordered from their highest priced items but the first couple levels of fabrics are hard to take.

I pretty much swear by mycustomtailor.com/Ravi.

1.  vs. RTW, MTM is outstanding.  My measurements for my 8 shirts, 4 pants, and 2 suits were perfect on the first try so everything fits really well.

2.  I agree with the limited fabric selection but mostly see this on the higher end fabrics (suits that he would price at around $800-$1000 US).  I would prefer to see Wainshiell or Dormeuil in colors other than Blue and Black but there isn't such an option.

3.  I have started to buy his 2-ply Cotton Twill shirts for $35US which looks to compare to Jantzen.

4.  Totally agree with Customer Service.  The longest ever time to make/deliver my order has been 3 weeks.  They have confused my address sometimes (transposing numbers for instance) but I closely watch it via FedEx and alway make sure it is correct.  They usually turn around any email in 24 hours.

My only peeve with them is the amount for shipping.  It is a flat 20% of the order and I do not understand why there would be a difference in shipping for 1, 2-ply Cotton Twill or 1, 2-ply Sea Island Cotton that is more expensive.  This one issue has prevented me from purchasing anything more than a S120 suit (I really have my eye on a side vent, chocolate brown, 2 button single breast in S150 at the moment).

Regards,
CT

Anyone have pics of any of these items? This looks promising.

Does shipping include customs fees? If so, that explains it.

Thanks for your write up. I may give this site a try for some pants.

i looked through the site and they don't seem to charge any shipping. perhaps it's a special right now.

i've been looking for a cool, affordable, corduroy suit for years and can apparently get one from them for about $275.

i'd like to see some pics from our members first.
