What do you listen to while ironing / shining your - Page 2

I listen to whatever is playing over the speakers at the drycleaners or at the shoe shine stand.

Generally a Sunday night activity, so TV: Simpsons, Arrested Development, Deadwood. If it's music, probably my "reading" mix: Air, some jazz, Beta Band, Belle and Sebastian, M83 - you get the picture. If I put on some bossa house and ironed my striped shirts, I'm in danger of getting the urge to hop in my camaro and head out to happy hour and find some foxy ladies. Maybe enjoy a Long Island Iced Tea.

imageWIS: repasser = to iron translation of RJ's new version of the royal device: "He should be ashamed, who irons poorly". A sentiment possibly more suited to the scullery than the throne, but there it is...

Usually TV while shining shoes (a downstairs activity). Sports preferably, but more often than not, something in the Kim Possible/Fairly OddParents/ SpongeBob genre. Ironing being an upstairs activity, I usually put a CD on and play it through my computer speakers. Last time around, it was Diana Krall.

I prefer classical and opera while ironing.

Last night I listened to a radio show on the life of Jean Jaurès while trying to shine shoes. Stupid Aldens.
