I've tried on Phineas Cole at the Paul Stuart shop in NYC. I'm normally a 42r and I believe I tried on a 44r there (slimmer cut) and it fit like a dream. I would have just needed a tiny bit taken in around the back/armpit area.

Yeah, the suits at Paul Stuart are cut like two to three sizes small - like a 45 or 46 R to fit a 43 to 44R
