And what say ye of smoked MOP buttons instead of horn? I just happen to have a set in my desk drawer--such are the trappings of Sartorial Personality Disorder (coming in the DSMVI)

The linen BlazerSuitâ„¢ will have smoked MoP buttons, so that is OK.

I don't know about the edges. I think the coat needs that extra stitch to dress it down a little.

Besides, part of being an iGent is praying toward Naples five times a day, and in Napoli, the blue SB 3 roll 2.5, 3 open patch with swelled edges is the ne plus ultra coat.

Moleskin. What's wrong with it?

But there's no time!

If I order, as usual, I'm going to be incredibly impatient and want it right away. I have a trip to Miami in April and want to bring it with. It all hinges on the tax man.

What GDL is trying to say is that he likes his moleskin trim and fit, like his chicken breast or what I'm wearing today:

I don't know... I find the more casual pants (chinos or moleskins) to look awful with pleats in general, but double-pleats especially. I didn't realize you wore yours double-pleated.

vox - are your shoes black? WTH is going on here? Did I fall into a SF warp?

I'm not a fan of any pleats but I like manton's pants and vox's are upsetting me right now. OK I'm over it.

Cool. I'll be in South Beach the fourth week of April, tax man be damned.

It's old age creeping up on you.

My soul is black (always), but my shoes are not (today.)

I think I have told this story before, but in high school I was once taken shopping by my mother. This was after I began to notice that trad (never called it that) was not the world's only style, and I wanted to rebel a little. I needed some new "slacks" as we called them then. I absolutely insisted on pleats. She was really appalled, but I got my way. I don't think I have worn unpleated pants since. Double forward for me all the way.

Still, when I used to encounter anti-pleat hysteria from the AA trads, I recognized where it came from.

You never wear jeans? Please, I beg you, don't tell me your jeans are pleated !

Are your shorts or sweatpants that you wear around the house also double-pleated?

No jeans. Around the house I wear old chinos or shorts that are too frayed or stained or both to go out, and they are all double pleated, too.

His boxers also have double forward pleats, and brace buttons and belt loops.
