Fans of the original BlazerSuitâ„¢ -- and I know you are legion -- will be excited to know that its sibling has arrived. Recall that the original was 10 ounce fresco, a perfect "tween" suit: not the thing for the heat of summer or the dead of winter, but a go-anywhere garment for other times of the year.

The new version takes the same concept but errs on the side of cold weather. This is a 12/13 ounce worsted flannel. Flannel for surface interest, worsted for its wearing properties. The color is a little lighter, and has a touch of gray -- not enough to make the coat worn alone scream "suit" (that would defeat the purpose) but enough to make the color a little more lively.

As ever, SB 3 roll 2.5, side vents, three open patch pockets, swelled edges, belted trousers. I asked for brown horn buttons again, but the tailor forgot and used blue horn. I could swap them out, but I may keep them. I rather like them. I notice the Napoli guys wear blue odd jackets with blue buttons, and like any good iGent, I want to ape them in all things ...

Also, all ties in this thread Certified, Guaranteed, Genuine Soporific.

OK, first up, conservative business dress. White button cuff shirt, black shoes, black belt, blue tie:

Slightly less conservative business dress. Pink shirt, burg tie, brown croc belt, brown calf shoes.

Weekend or quasi-formal evening out. Mid gray flannels, gunmetal grenadine tie, mink suede belt & shoes:

Copying an old AA illustration (nothing more iGent than that!). Light gray flannels, white button down, orange knit tie:

Don't worry...it's coming.

Nice though: flannel is going to be the next version for me as well...Golden Bale. Which one did you use?

That's Harrison. Of the blue-grays in Harrison, Minnis, Lesser, Smith, and Drapers, Harrison had the best color. Cost the most too, though, damnit.

Go Bears! Where did you get that tie? The ones I've seen at the bookstore in recent years are universally deplorable.

Got it, the search continues. Hopefully the football resurgence will help to create a market for a Cal stripe tie without a logo.

More than Golden Bale? Or perhaps there is no equivalent in that book?
