I was wondering if anyone else collected coke ephemera?

I have only been collecting seriously for about 4-5 years, but have a decent collection.

I was offered a working cooler for 100$ when I was 16 that I kill, KILL myself for not buying.

Anyways, anyone else have a collection and/or any interesting stories about their collection?

(I will post some pics down the road a piece.)

My college roommate's mom collects coke stuff. I went to his house one day and they built an extension onto their house to hold all her ****. Not just bottle caps, but fridges, sofas, signs, all kinds of crap. It was, um...dedication. The likes of which I dont understand.

I don't collect modern stuff really, if I see something I like I pick it up... but coca-cola hasn't really done anything thats impressed me as far as product packaging in a few years. It seems the Asia-Pacific market sees a lot more in the way of intelligent or modern packaging. I'd love to get my hands on a set of the 8 oz bullet cans from Australia. I have been trying to find them online but most online retailers of coke products sell in huge quantities.

but to answer your question no,I don't have any coke light stuff. I actually only have a few pieces from Europe, just bottles and a few cans my friends smuggled back for me .

I hope to at some point attend one of the auctions held in Atlanta, lots of old clocks and menu-boards et cetera.

At this point the offerings to housewives in the late 50's are what interest me most (calendars, coupons, Pause for Living, et cetera).

The bulk of my collection is print advertisements.

It is nice enough to see older Coke stuff in films(especially the tiny glimpses of cokes earliest French incarnations in Godard films and such), I try to tell myself that I can appreciate things without owning them but I would pee my pants if I were ever able to get a hold of one of the 'buyez coca-cola' signs from early 60's France or any in a foreign language actually.

I have a commemorative coke bottle from the Florida Marlins inaugural season (1993?) somewhere.

I'm a coca-cola junkie though. The product more so than the paraphernalia. Good fountain coke is an art and pepsi is a sin.

When older, i'd love to get a small soda fountain just for coke (and maybe coke zero or something for the gf or when i don't want calories) and then i want to just tweak with the temperature, syrup, and carbonation levels until i find the perfect blend. This hole in the wall pizza place has the most amazing fountain coke i've ever tasted. My friend who moved to chicago still texts me occasionally when he has a mediocre fountain coke telling me how much he misses it. I must find out their secret

I have a bunch of glass bottles my parents collected for me as a kid, Coke and Dr. Pepper. '70s Bear Bryant bottles, Cowboys commemoratives, etc.. They're all in storage, since it's not really my thing.

I do enjoy my Bobby Valentine Chiba Lotte beer can from Japan though.

I have some wooden boxes I picked up off the street a couple of months ago--red and white with the coke logo, very sturdy, probably the size of the old glass bottles and stamped inside Property of the Coca-Cola Bottling Company. Are there serious collectors of this stuff? If so, I better bring them in out of the rain.

Coke paraphanelia is the most widely collected antique in the US, IIRC.

I love the classic fountain service, its hard to find places that still have them but yeah it is great. I used to go every few weeks to a place ice-cream parlor/lunch counter in OKC and have about a half liter served in a caraffe while I read the paper. It was pretty heavy, a lot more syrup than most of the newer fountains (at restaurants/gas stations) but amazing, so sweet the carbonation was hardly noticable.

No, i need a bite. This great burger place i've told you about that has been around since the 20s has mediocre fountain coke because while the syrup levels are fine, there is not enough carbonation. It's tough. My friend and i designed a top 5 list of fountain coke in gainesville before. It's a good list. The top 3 are 2 pizza places and a gas station way on the other side of town. The thread inspired me to visit there for lunch tuesday or at least wednesday

I'm the same way. There's a burrito place in Atlanta that has perfect coke every time.
I always wonder what they do differently.

A Petrol station not far from me sells them in Coke (Red), Diet Coke(Silver) and Zero(Black). They are long and elongated and 300ml. If the postage service has no issue with it (and you are prepared to pay the postage) , I don't have a problem sending you one of each.
