Trickers - Page 2

Thank you for those links. Impressive doesn't begin to describe Jun Kunawa's collection. The Halifax seems certainly a very versatile boot - serviceable and/or elegant depending on the last. And Mahogany Country is just the right shade of brown. I also like Banbury model listed in the catalog scans. I may just have to reconsider my choice of the Alden Fan Cigar shell cordovan Chukka boot as my next major shoe purhase. I'm guessing EG costs two to three times as much as the Aldens though...

Jun Kuwana's Cobbler's Website has pictures of a number of different Green models, both old and new, including two versions of the Halifax. You can find scans of all or most of the models in EG's current catalogue on this other Japanese website here.

I have an Alden Fan George boot in whiskey. The EG boots are so much nicer. The Alden boots crease in the vamp where I bend my foot, to a point of being severe. Perhaps something to do with the lasting. My EG boots do not crease at all. If you can afford the few extra hundred dollars, you will be delighted with EG. Order through EG's London store. With shipping and customs, the cost is consideranly less then going through a USA EG retailer. Cut the middle man.
