Who watched? I know he'll be back soon on the Tonight Show, but I couldn't help tearing up at the end. I remember staying up way past my bedtime in middle school to watch Late Night and it's always been a nice little escape from reality. Best of luck to Conan on the Tonight Show!

You cried over a host leaving a TV show for a different TV show?

Let Conne be. I teared up too. Not over Conan (I missed it), but when Paar left the tonight show in '62.

Like Conne, I think, I used to turn on the TV late on school nights after my folks were in bed, light up an L&M and puff away while the Black and White Jack Paar Show took me off live to NYC and a sophisticated spot that would be far different from the geometry test in the morning.

Yeah it looked like he decided to talk "from the heart"...he ended up sounding a little like Obama at his most unprepared (if you catch my drift).

Same here. I watch pretty much every episode thanks to DVR. Loved this past week with all the old clips. Been watching for a long time.

I don't know what people wanted him to do. I'm glad he just spoke from the heart. I hate overly scripted things. Also, it's not like he's retiring. He'll be back on the air in a few weeks, so he didn't need as grand of a farewell.

Conan started to tear up for a little bit at the end. Made a joke or two to get himself back on track.

Or appearances by wrist hulk and / or the masturbating bear?

I hadn't been a regular viewer in years (as my dinner and bed times converged), but Conan was by far my favorite of the late night roster.

Oh yea. What the fuck was with the white stripes' awful performance? An out of tune, terrible haromony of "i think we're gonna be friends"? I know conan probably likes them or something, but that was beyond terrible, my friends watching and i kept asking if they were serious. That said, conan is a pretty good rockabilly type singer/player. In the clips where he is semi-serious about music and the writers strike episodes where he dressed up in full regalia and played/sang a song i was really impressed.

^the stripes suck ass and that was the only blak mark on the show IMO.

I was dying when he "released" Abe Vigoda into the wild.
