I bought some shoes (C&J Lowndes) that were topied that may have been worn once or twice max based on the lack of creasing of the uppers. I know it's a little ridiculous, but I just want the leather soles exposed, and wish to remove the topies (by taking them to a competent cobbler). Has anybody done this and what was the result?
Bought topied shoes...what lies beneath?

BTW, Bris they didn't come with a box (just shoe bags) and I thought about your obsession with boxes. Have you ever bought a box from the manufacturer?
