Baseball 2010 - Page 32

i like league; he's got electric stuff; but i thought morrow was a bigger trading chip than bringing in a reliever and a OFer that hasn't played higher than low A ball after 4 years of being a pro. i know he's only gonna be 21 next year, but cmon. morrow could have been part of a package for a power hitter that can play a corner IF position. perhaps they're both part of another trade package the GM has brewing? hope league does well with the mariners. he struck me out twice in a high school game, but that doesn't say much.

yeah i never wanted Javier to leave NY - that's when they fuckin picked up Randy Johnson and had a beautiful stretch of shittin on their farm system. don't they realize spending millions on scouting instead of vets is going to yield more? i wouldn't mind suckin every once in a while to watch young guys come up through the system but it just aint the yankee style.

vazquez improves the team as well making the bullpen stronger and all of that.. he eats innings like cinnamon churros

should definitely keep damon around though.. let him grow his hair out and everything - go out with a blast

Andre Dawson is finally voted into the HOF. Well deserved. Robbie Alomar is not elected in his first year of eligibility. WTF?

how did david segui get a vote?
Alomar and Frank Thomas are going to be judged unfairly by the perception that they were bad for large chunks of the end of their careers - where they were both merely not as dominant as before.

Alomar spitting on the ump doesn't help.

i am tired of people being judged on being good guys. seems ridiculous.

I'm very happy about The Hawk. I had the pleasure of watching him play a bunch of times and he was a god. Speed, power, defensive skill, and a gun of an arm. He racked up some serious numbers, was an MVP and( two-time runner up), had a host of other awards for hitting and fielding, and was one of the most feared hitters of his era. I'm surprised it took this long.

Twins sign Mauer to an eight-year, $184 million contract. And Nathan is officially on the shelf for a year; Tommy John surgery this week.

He's good, I'm not sure he's $184 million dollar good, but he's good. Now if they can some how sure up Delmon Young.

He's definitely worth $23/year right now. Not sure how the last few years of that deal with look but he's worth that price even if he moves to 1B in 5 years, as long as he keeps hitting the way he has, but catchers tend not to age well.
