the regent has slimmer pants than the fitzgerald. it's technically a drop-7 suit. the fitzgerald is a drop-6 suit. regent comes 40/33, fitz comes 40/34. it could be true that the regent comes with better waist suppression too. the skirt is prob. cut for a 33 waist. but the regent def. has slightly broader shoulders and more upper chest than the fitzgerald. i wear a 39 in the regent (it has 18 inch shoulder, which is borderline too tight for me) and a 40 in the fitzgerald (which also has an 18 inch shoulder, i think). with the regent i have to let the pants out to 33. i am not slim enough for it. on the other hand, in the fitz my not-so-strapping but not effete upper body is busting out of the 39. and the 40R trousers, maybe i take them in to 33. so if you are talking just about the waist of the pants and prob. also of the jacket, technically the regent is slimmer, for sure. but the shoulders on the fitzgerald are so narrow. if you've ever done any manual labor in your life, or if you have ever been able to do 30 push-ups in a row, then you have to size up to wear it.
