A few weeks ago I saw some Cappellis in a delivery of overstock Kitons (I know the only direct overstock delaer personally), obviously at least some are made in the same factory (though to much lower standards than Kiton's ties).
Just wanted to gift SF some myth busting material for the new year.
Wait, so you are saying that Kiton produces Cappelli ties, albeit to a lower standard?
Smart choice, you will get a hell of a lot of wear out of that. Especially with the other stuff you buy when I post the rest of my closet clean next week!

No, that would be only one myth^^
Kiton does not produce everything "in house" or "themselves". Well, of course they do, just like they do everything 110% by hand...
Also I did not say that Cappelli does not produce all of their ties, they just [obviously] do what is common practice in Naples, with very few exceptions.
Once the capacity is full, outsourcing for overhanging orders is normal, usually it is far more safe than increasing one's capacity [for several reasons that ONLY apply in Naples!!!].
I think I once mentioned that Panico wanted to emerge into making also [bespoke] pants [in house and on a regular basis], therefore he wanted to establish another workshop as the capacity in Casalnuovo was full and dedicated to coats, overcoats etc. and he needed a specialist to supervise the pants making process.
Well, it ended like a typical Napoli business, nowehere.
Anyway, I just found it quite funny to find Cappellis among a large batch Kiton ties.
The quality was rather soso and notably under what I have usually seen from them [Cappelli], what is quite logic, possibly it was even refused by Cappelli or they were samples they received.
As long as this is the case, I dont see any problem.

When I visited Cappelli in Napoli, I noticed he had one of the silk knit ties with a point and when I asked him about it he said all Cappelli ties are hand made, this is made by a machine. It carries his label but it's not made by Cappelli. He gave it to me a present!

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Jeeez.... if you have a problem figuring it out, PM me, Ill take them off your hands. Nice score. Whats that green/white repp, Drakes?
There were plenty of Ancient Madders left at the Mansion and, at $52.49 each, difficult to pass up. You should call or visit promptly before they disappear.
The green/white/navy repp is a tagged as a Phineus Cole, but looks like a rebranded Drake's shantung to me. In fact, I saw the exact same on Drake's website.

Thanks... funny though that the website has most of them for $99,99, and only one for $69.99.
What kind of SF discount would you offer? My wife was talking about getting me a bowtie for xmas, but it didn't work out...
