Soporific Tie Pr0n - Page 83

The see-through tip on the grenadine strikes me as one of those geeky details that gets SFers all drool.gif and makes civilians think there's something wrong with your tie.

Probably so...but in situations like these, I just go with what I like and if somebody thinks I could only afford to buy 95% of a tie, so be it smile.gif

But also I think if the rest of you is elegant-looking (which I hope describes me), then you're more likely to get the benefit of the doubt and people might assume there's something going on there they don't understand. Also, the tip being often unseen anyway, I doubt many people notice.

Undoubtedly. I wasn't really criticizing it so much as calling it out as some real inside baseball stuff.

Anyone have suggestions on where to buy a purple tie? Looking for a purple tie to go with navy, grey flannel, medium and chocolate brown flannel. I've been looking at a purple grenadine tie from Panta but it may be too purple (pic below)!!

it is pretty purple, but that is a bad pic, here is a better one, I think I only have 1-2 left:

Thanks Ed...I remember seeing the Plum tie several weeks ago. I believe Spoo posted a pic, I wish there was a tie between the two colors.

that looks to be a slim tie, correct? if so, how the hell do you get those dimple knots? I have a lot of slim ties and can never get a dimple to form like that. on traditional ties, a lot easier. teach me your ways!

oh whoops, you're right redface.gif

regardless, what kind of knot is that? is that a double four in hand?

I believe its a regular four-in-hand but difficult to tell since the tie is at an angle. I heard that grenadine's work best with a four-in-hand knot.

I know they are the same tie but different set of pics, I just wish I could find a tie between the two colors.

Thanks Spoo, that's the color I was looking for...royal purple. Looks totally different than the pics! I wear a lot of navy, greys and browns in the winter and this tie should work fine through winter and spring.

Just purchased the tie from Ed - pick me out a good one Ed!! Looking forward to seeing Ed's work!
