TB can be slow to respond, but their shipping is pretty unreal and apparently they are dropping the price of shipping to the USA this fall too.

Yeah - I was looking at the wholesale, and I think that I saw that on the bottom of the nylon safari boots. Unreal. I wonder what the sell through at retail is. I've got seven pairs, all bought under cost, and I am a pretty standard size (43), and it wasn't as though I had to scramble for them, and pretty every retailer, from Barneys to South Willard to Aloharag, seemed to have plenty of leftovers of pretty much every model, so I wonder if CP hasn't priced itself out of competition in the contemporary market, at least in this economy. I like the shoes (obviously), but $365 for sneakers is steep. Yes, I know that Lanvins are double, but I am not a Lanvin customer.

Very true. It's tough for sure. I can understand that shipping costs go up, as factories slow down, the small remaining orders prices go up, duties aren't getting any cheaper and the leathers aren't either. So can CP actually make a cheaper quality product?

They made some unlined sneakers for ss10 but I wouldn't buy them. I want the good stuff, so we'll see. I'm retailing these bad boys and just got killed by a massive duty charge today. So I'm taking serious hits on margins just to try to offer them for a price that people can even consider.

They are on sale everywhere, and in large numbers as well, so we'll see what happens in the future with the brand.

I'm guessing CP will start a diffusion line type product line generic man did. No inside info but just a hunch. They'd make a bunch of money selling the CP brand name and similar shapes with lesser materials. Would be pointless 1-3 years ago but now the brand name and gold stamping alone make people interested. Not saing that's right, but would probably work

I dunno. If there were a diffusion line, i'd prolly buy. As long as they did it tastefully. ie not selling it at UO.

I just bought a dress from TBS for my girlfriend. Great service. Emails were responded the same or next day, plus the item was shipped on Tuesday and came on Thursday (no problems with customs).

Man, when are some other stockists going to get those Band of Outsiders x Sperry chukkas? Looks like Tres Bien is the only one with them now but I'd really rather buy from a place in North America.
