Yup your assessment is right. But I may add a normal UK 7 can be up to 12 ' in length.

100,000 forints = $422
125,000 =$527
25,000 =$106

^The price difference would largely be erased if we could do away w/ the VAT. Tom has asked for ideas about how to get around that. I would think that if Vass took foreign orders and shipped directly, there'd be no VAT. But I guess they won't do that, right?

That's true. Vass shouldn't have an issue in shipping them out if we pay for the postage!
It's the Hungarian government who loses out on tax, not them.

Vass charges VAT whether they ship to you or you buy them in store. That's the way Hungary rolls.

OK, I've worked out special pricing with Vass, for all shoes including MTO. It depends on large group orders though, so here's the deal. I will extend the special price to anyone who sends paypal by 0600GMT Tuesday. That's midnight east coast. Please send me an email if you would like to join the order and I will discuss details with you. I'm not posting details here because of the special nature of the order. No belts in special leathers, sorry. Also, my lady friend was in the shop with me today with her camera so I will post a couple of pictures Monday. There won't be any surprises, I've pretty much covered what they have in stock. But the shoes sure are pretty

Does your offer for a large group order require that we only purchase shoes already in stock, or can we purchase custom MTO shoes? Do we get shipping discounts for ordering multiple pairs? What are the new special prices you negotiated with Vass?

OK, just doing this once. It is pretty tasteless to use my services (establishing parameters for a special order, travel to and from the shop, working with shopkeeper, etc), which are not free, and then go in search of a better deal elsewhere with the added value I have provided. Likewise, it would be tasteless to use someone else's services, which are not free, and then coming to me for a better deal. The only way I can police this is to completely end the service if I see it happen. Thank you. Tom Mike, edited my post to answer your questions.

I'm not going to reveal prices as it is Tiger's domain but can I just say that considering what he does and the current prices at Vass I definitely see value in having someone review my stuff before it gets sent (I asked for many options) and the price I pay for that is negligible.

I think tiger is pretty amazing to offer to put this together, talk about herding cats!

I'm trying to figure out sizing. I have a somewhat wide forefoot and high instep due to wearing orthotics. I have a pair of Vass norwegers in New Peter size 43. They are a little tight over the instep and a little loose in the heel (I've used tongue pads to improve this).

Any last and sizing suggestions? I'm thinking a 3636 in 42.5 might work better.

I'm typically a 9.5E to 10D US, 9 F or G UK.

Finally, can anyone comment on how the 3636 and Budapester last differ, I can't really tell from the Vass website.
