Vass shoes direct from Budapest - Page 3

For what it's worth, here are my specifics (hope it helps someone):

Vass - 45 U last
11/11.5D or E - EG 888 last (have also squeezed into 10.5/11E in the 888, but it's tight)
10.5/11E - EG 202 and 82 lasts
11/11.5 - G&G (soft square last - can't recall the name right now)
11 US - Martegani 3B
11UK - C&J 337 last
Most AE and Alden Plaza last - 11.5D US

PS - my feet were measured as 44.5 EU by Stefano Bemer (who knows a thing or two about shoes) when I had some pairs made in Firenze

I tend to wear 8.5F on the EG 202 last. Would I get away with 8.5 'f' last for VASS shoes?

I've read that Vass doesn't stock a whole lot of models in their store, so you'll probably be looking at mostly special orders.

My sizing:

10D US (usually)
9E UK - C&J 337
43 EU - Vass F
43.5 EU - Vass U

I have a slightly narrow foot and the Vass U on the 43.5 fits me the best out of everything I've ever worn.

I'd be interested in going this route while the exchange rate is good. I was emailing back and forth with Gabor a while back but he dropped off, and I been able to reach him in over a month. Anybody else been able to contact him?

weird, we have the same sizing everywhere else but the U last in 44 feels a half size big on me...

Gabor tends to do this, but he eventually gets round to replying. I believe he is a busy man who might travel a bit. Give him time. However, I am sure that the original poster in this thread is just as responsive and might get you what you want, as long as the order is not outlandish.

These two posts demonstrate why getting sizing information on the forum is a crap shoot.

It looks good to me. Just half a size's difference.

Makes sense to me on the U details considering the first person was a wider foot and is compensating with 1/2 size up.

I am personally going to go with a size 42 and I am a size 8uk in both C&J 337 and 348

Any thoughts on the fit of the Peter last, particularly on the 86 chukka?

I am in Budapest and doing this in person. Feel free to email me if you'd like.

No chukkas in stock, but I tried on a norvegeser on the P last. 42.5 was a little bit roomy. IIRC, AE Park Avenue is a little tight on me at 9.5, Mantellassi is a superb fit at 42.5/9.5.

For anyone that hasn't PMed me already, please email me through the link in my username or directly at TomInBudapest at gmail dot com.

There is a large stock of Budapest-lasted shoes on hand, smaller stocks of U, F, Peter lasted shoes. No boots at all, so they will all be special ordered and have a longer turnaround.

I can also add matching belts for your shoes at $75.

Ostrich, Croc, and Shark are available for people who are into those kinds of things.

I'd be interested in seeing some pictures of these belts, if you don't mind Thanks!
