Update: 4.10.09 Bal Boots! And a link to VR's pictorial index: Vass comparisons Update: 4.7.09 Prices updated. HUF is making the USD its bitch so prices are going up. Please note that customs has been kind to these shipments so there are no hidden costs. Sorry guys, talk to the MNB. Update: 2.27.09 Prices updated below. PayPal is out. They will not facilitate payment for items delivered in more than 20 days. Google checkout is up and running, and I can also take wire transfers. Everyone should be covered now. OK, technically a proxy, but there’s some extra demand so I’m posting in FS. The Hungarian Forint has fallen to new lows thanks to epic financial mismanagement. Their loss is your gain! I will send Vass shoes worldwide for very low prices. Please email me through the link in my username or TomInBudapest at gmail dot com. The website is here: Vass shoes. Pick your shoe. Send me an email and we'll hammer out details. I will go to the shop and get your shoes, send them off to you. If the shoes are in stock, the whole thing shouldn’t take more than 3 weeks to the US, usually closer to 2. I can also take special orders. These will take longer, 5 – 6 weeks. Many shoes that are in the catalogue, such as boots, U last, and spectators, have to be special ordered. You can get basically any style on any last, but you will get pushback from me if you try to order something stupid, like the Theresianer boot on a U last. This is neither a formal nor a permanent arrangement. The forint is down some 30% from its high, so this makes sense for now. But eventually the forint will go back up or Vass will get hit by higher cost of materials. I don’t offer any guarantees beyond DOA and I’m no expert on sizing and lasts. U and F lasts are too narrow for me, if that helps. I'm also not much of a photographer so you're going to have to use the website and do your research on the forum. Prices include two-piece lasted trees, VAT, fees, and shipping to the US. -$15 for shipping to Europe. Calf $630 U/F Last $700 Cordovan $760 U/F Last $825 Chukka Boots $675 U/F last $760 Cordovan Chukka $800 Theresianer Boots $800 Bal boots, 9-eyelet $800 U/F Last $880 There's croc, ostrich, and shark for people who are into those kinds of thing. Shark is interesting, very rustic looking. $2000/$1500/$1500 respectively, on the U last. Vass also has belts that are nice and not flashy in matching leathers. $75 with shoes. Shipping is currently TNT which has consistently been at 3-5 days to the US. Tom

Do prices include lasted trees?

How much are you paying for shipping? Have you tried EMS (which should be through the Hungarian postal service). I know EMS from the US (called Express) to Hungary is about $40. Doesn't Vass give you a discount approximately equal to VAT if you pay in cash?

VASS cash disount is half of actual VAT, per this forum. 10% vs. 20% VAT

Rates FROM US to Hungary is in no way indicators of rate FROM HUNGARY to US.

I trust Posta as far as the Pope shits in the woods. Shipping is via DPD at competitive rates. They claim 2-3 days to the US. Today she didn't offer me the cash discount, but if I go in next week with a million forints, that might change. If I can work something out, I will definitely reduce prices, but no promises.

How much for chukka boots on the regular lasts? Is the price for chukka boots and high boots the same?
$650 for the U Last is an awesome deal.

Are you going to need armed guards for your shoebitrage? Good luck on the endeavor. I am doing what I can to resist a suede Old English II.

I'm going to go get prices for the models I missed, boots both high and low on regular lasts, in calf and cordovan. Will also check about cash discount. Prices include lasted trees, yes. Jamison--c'mon, I've bought from you... People buy houses here in cash. Bags of cash. It's bizarre.

What is the "+5% for credit card PayPal fees" and is it included in the price?
Do they offer balmoral dress boots? Or it's only MTO?

Time for a balmoral dress boot group purchase!

If you are paying by PayPal and it is backed by a credit card (as opposed to a bank account), I think you will need to add 5% on top of the purchase price.
Does this happen in all Paypal purchases? Or only when an international card is used or something?
