How have you gotten over break-ups? - Page 6

I may have some first-hand experience in this soon. I just told my woman, who to be fair is the woman I intend to marry, that I had backups for a portion of our relationship.

Nice work, I know, but how was I to know at the time that this one was the one?

Are you sure you are not just on a break?

I just broke up with my gf the other weekend and I already have like 4 trips planned...working on the 5th. I figure getting away from this stupid small town where everyone knows everyone is the best way.

NYC
DC
DC
LV

Working on some place with a beach and a lot of girls that don't speak english for the 5th.

This might not be the BEST way to get over an ex you might still be in love with it's the only way I see fit.

Option A: find another woman (or man in many cases on this forum)

Option B: whine on an internet forum.

Couldn't take the guilty conscience, and if it's going to fall apart, I'd rather it happened now than in 40 years time. It's like ripping off the bandaid. Besides, as soppy as it sounds she deserves to be with someone for reasons she knows are right rather than reasons she thinks are right. Oh, also, it looks like things aren't over. Victory!

They are right. Cutting all contact is ultimately the best thing, at least for a period until you get your shit together. I'm 5 weeks out and I finally realized this.
