Good speakers last a lifetime, until you get sick of them and want something new. I haven't actually listened to the Amanti's, but i've read great things about them. i have heard the Cremona's, and they were quite nice, but not in an ideal environment with matching equipment. I didn't get to give them a serious listen.
Having said that, I'd never actually spend the 27k on any piece of audio equipment without giving it a serious audition. What I have listened to and absolutely loved were the B&W 802Ds paired with a McIntosh sound system. The sound produced by that combo was magnificent, and the 802Ds are a more affordle 12-13k/pair. Sonus Faber's stuff is just beautiful though. I admit that I like eye candy.
