is it me, or does the cut of Lacoste polos suck? - Page 2

Someone should do up a polo shirt with something interesting on the breast. I'm so tired of the polo player and the croc and the Hollister ambiguous splotch or whatever that thing is and the moose and... Give me Cthulhu or maybe someone playing polo on a crocodile or...something. Just so played.

well, I have a short torso and longer legs, so length is never an issue for me. I weigh around 140.

I picked up a size 2 Lacoste over the weekend and although I haven't decided if it's too tight or fitted just right, I do like the shirt. Probably a 3 would make it a bit looser which is OK by me too. Hoping it doesn't shrink like hell when I cold wash it though... m

Right - but there's more to a polo than just the tail. The front must look very short and the sleeves must be riding upto your armpits. But hey, if it works for you keep doing it. Panzer

I have one Lacoste polo shirt, a Lacoste Sport, which was made in France, and has the crocodile sewn on (i.e. not a patch). The shirt is a size Small; it is made from cotton and like 2% spandex. It was the slimmest Lacoste I found, but it was still too lose, so I had my tailor take in the sides a bit and shorten the sleeve diameter. Now it fits a lot better, but there is no way I'm spending extra money to tailor a polo shirt every time I buy one. I'll stick to RL custom-fit, thanks. Jon.

I'm 6'0-175 and I usually need a small in polo shirts because they are typically sized way too big. I have a 40" chest and average sized arms. Usually the length doesn't vary much, just the body size. I hate having the shoulder seams 2" off the end of my shoulders and a whole bunch of loose fabric around my waist. Makes me look skinnier than I already am.

The logo sucks; the rest is moot.

I'm about 6'2" and 185lbs with fairly broad shoulders, I wear a size 4 in Lacoste. The shirt is pretty tight in the arms and chest but fits my shoulders very well, the shoulder seam falls exactly where it should. I get compliments on the fit so I guess I'll stick with it but I think the shirt is just baggy enough in the body to be casual. Plus I like the fact that the shirt doesn't have a tail, I hate that look. However, if I was any smaller I agree the fit would be hideous. A.

I have to agree here, it's not so much the cut but the style and brand image. I don't like logos much, and I find it interesting that people have embraced the Lacoste logo once again, but are very quick to bash Prada, Gucci, or even LV. The mere fact that people buy the Lacoste polo simply for the logo still amazes me, but I guess people who graduate from Abercrombie and J.Crew need something to help define their style. I've looked at them in Saks and they are quite unremarkable, but they are easily identified, which is exactly the desired benefit that the wearer wants.

I have a Lacoste polo from last year and it really fits perfect and has a nice quality, but the new polos from Lacoste are really worse cut. It seems like they are moving backwards with their cuts instead of doing something innovative and new. Besides that, i tried to contact Lacoste several times over their webpages and i didn't get any respond.

I think that Lacoste polos have been ruined by posers, who push von dutch trucker hat as well as cheap puma shoes with disgusting diesel jeans. Lacoste used to be a respectable brand and sadly, its image has been tarnished by peasants
