snake have you seen 2046 ? those shots reminded me of that naijaboy is this the project you detailed in another thread some while ago ?
anyway, if what we post here can be captured or reflected in our style, if we can find the interplay between environment and aesthetic, if what we imagine can be manifest
then surely we can achieve sartorial supremacy
i had some of those photos posted, and a friend asked what my inspiration was. well they were collected under "random" but somehow I think they aren't completely unrelated. i tend between colonialist and colonizable, refined arrogance and raw dreams.
also, the danger of this thread, well one of them, is that the 3-4 blogs i look at, which belong to you fellas here, will now have much overlap. please don't start re-posting each other's contributions lol i like the distinctions in each of yours. you know who you are !
Shah - yeah it is. Planning a trip up north (provided things don't get worse with the terrorist activities there) to go visit the indigo dye pits and make a few contacts with the craftspeople there in late January/early February. Quite excited about possibilities. Nothin like dealing with old hands and old techniques.
I think the pictures I will be adding here will definitely reflect my sartorial direction, especially for the coming year. Some modernity, some antiquity, lots of room for the wind to move between fabric.
Hope this thread stays alive a I am looking forward to everyone's contributions an seeing how they interpret and express their inspirations.
This page is beautiful, thank you boys for an excellent job and for bringing it back from the dead sipang! I never save pics I like and my memory is unfortunately too terrible to remember where I see inspirational pics except for ivwri's blog, lol. Will try to make an effort and post some up later on.
